Don’t forget there is practice tomorrow at 3. We really need everybody there so these boys get to know each other and how each of them play. Please give me the respect of letting me know if you can’t be there…because missing practice with no notice/excuse will cause your child to sit the bench the following game. I want to set expectations early. With that being said I do have a work trip scheduled (been scheduled since Feb) mid June so the other coaches will have to help me out during those few days if we have a game scheduled. Lets be a team and not let each other down. I look forward to a great summer!
Also if you have not registered please get that done.

Next Practice Sunday May 17th 3-5PM (Tulsa Tornado Baseball)
Everyone,
Start getting your athletes request for player numbers to me as soon as possible. So far I think 9 and 13 are already taken. We will more than likely have uniform fitting not this Sunday but the following. I will just be doing Hats and a T-shirt this summer. Cost will be around $35 per player plus we will be wearing white pants. If you have white pants from a previous year that still fit you can use those or you can find them really cheap at just about any sports store. I also have a game scheduled for us to attend the Tulsa Drillers on Thursday July 5th. They will get to go on the field with the players. More to come on that. Look forward to a great summer!

Summer Registration (Tulsa Tornado Baseball)
Parents,
I know that Jenks Summer registration has opened today, but I ask that you do not register until we get a full team. As of right now I have 9 that are interested in playing Summer but I am still recruiting as well. I will not register until I have a full team in order to make sure that I have the players I want on the team. I do not want randomly assigned players that I have never seen play before. It is not fair to the other players and it is not fair to the parents that have talented children. I want a rather equally talented team. We have a month to get a few practices in before registration ends. I don’t like procrastination, but in this instance it will be okay. See you all Sunday at 3:00PM.

Sunday April 29th Practice Cancelled (Tulsa Tornado Baseball)
Practice cancelled today for rain forecast. Already getting some rain in Tulsa and we are supposed to get 60-70% chance. We will try again next Sunday at same location and 3:00PM

1st Summer 8U Practice (Tulsa Tornado Baseball)

As you already know I am working on building a Summer 8U 2012 team ( and Fall team) and ultimately a competitive kid pitch 10U (for Spring 2013). But right now my focus is finding quality players that have a heart for baseball and great parents with patience and encouragement for their kids. I have spoke to about 9 players thus far that have either some interest in joining us or have already committed to playing. Before the Spring 2013 season I expect to hold formal tryouts. For those of you not familiar with tryouts, it can be gruelling on both the parents and the children, but it builds character and encourages improvement. This Summer, I don’t plan on holding formal tryouts but I do have higher expectations of these kids as I have asked them to join the team specifically.
For those kids that I have not seen play yet, no kids have earned any position yet. I believe in putting the best player in the best position for the team as a whole.
Recruiting: If you know of any other players that are looking for a team please let me know. Also I will be looking for 2-3 dads to help coach…my only requirements are dedication to the team and great temperament with the boys.
Since many are in Spring ball currently, I plan on holding practice on Sundays. Expect them to be long.
1st Practice will be held this Sunday April 29th at the park behind McDonalds in Jenks at 3:00PM. Expect the practice to be until 5:00 or 5:30PM.
